The photography career of Elizabeth Etienne has taken her around the world and back,
from the cobblestone streets of Paris to the sandy beaches of California she now calls home.
She attributes both her French-American up-bringing and her many years living in Paris
shooting Fashion, Music, Film and Fine Art to give her work a unique, Euro-American stamp
that is hers alone.
After nearly 20 YEARS shooting weddings, advertising, portraits, & interiors
of every kind in sometimes far-off destinations, for every ethnic & cultural group, under diverse
weather conditions , she considers herself a “seasoned” photographer. She prides herself for
her ability to calm the nerves of a frantic bride, model or art director and trouble- shoot a
situation with a “Plan B”. She stresses the significance of careful, pre-shoot production planning
- scouting all shoot locations, noting the surroundings and existing natural lighting conditions
and creating story-board sketches of shot ideas. She reveals, “An average 1 day wedding or ad
campaign can be 5 days work! This guarantees remarkable images! You only do this once!
There are no “take two’s”. This is it! I take no chances. I want my clients to be speechless when
they see their images for the first time. Then I know I’ve done my job! I’m a hopeless romantic
what can I say!” Known for her fun-loving, quirky sense of humor and big smile, Elizabeth

in particular the photographer must know how to gracefully coordinate the shooting schedule

Her “family” of professional photo assistants & digital retouchers,
many of whom have been working with her for years, and are able to intuit everything from
her trademark lighting system to her next move. Elizabeth, her assistants and the coordinator
are in constant contact by remote walkie -talkies. This enables her to move quickly and prepare
for the next shot. Her assistants load and unload film, pass her different cameras containing
different films for different situations (she works with 5 cameras, including digital), various lenses,
multiple special "diffused" flashes and beautiful, skin-enhancing filters, (to give you that radiant,
flawless glow!). This impressive teamwork enables Elizabeth to effortlessly, navigate the scene,

chocolate, sepia tones and magnificent color saturation. All images are printed by a private,
custom lab that knows her neurotic quest for perfectionism!! Additionally, all prints have a thin,
black border around a white frame giving them a double, French matte appearance that’s simply
gorgeous!!! Rest-assured, only the finest quality, professional-grade film is used.
Wave Break...
When she isn’t traveling for work or pleasure, or collecting another
vintage camera to add to her collection (currently well over 50 pieces!)
Elizabeth can be found ocean side surfing the waves at her California
beach front home. Her passion for photography started at 14, as the
photographer for her boyfriend’s band which led her to graduate
with honors from the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in
Santa Barbara, CA in 1989.
